The first informal get together on a dismal day in Rowsley

Peak Rail came through with the best offer in terms of storage and access to facilities of the preserved railways that we approached, the choice being ratified by the RRRG membership in July. The move started on Monday 30th September 2002, for the accurate dates see the diary.

Our initial aim was to purchase one or both of the locomotives plus spare parts - flying in the face of the sceptics we raised the funds and now they are safe.

Now comes the small matter of restoring them - our first working party visited Blaenavon on Saturday 13th July to make the locomotives secure and survey their condition in detail. The move to Peak Rail was completed on 5th October 2002 with the first Members Day on Saturday 20th October. 12 members braved the bitter cold to visit the Twins.

We've already disappointed the sceptics once - we have every intention of doing it continually in the coming years of restoration.

Now we are a successful locomotive owning group, plans are in hand to distribute a newsletter to our members and shareholders. Meetings for all members to decide policy will be held as and when required. Discussions between the group members are held in the secure discussion boards.

Like any locomotive owning group we would love to have you aboard. The more money we raise from share holders the quicker the locomotives return to service. Simple as that. And don't forget to check out the benefits of membership.
