Sales activities October 2009
|
During September/October the sales stand had a very busy few weeks starting with the Sunday of the Peak Rail shunter gala (27th September), followed by two days at the Nene Valley Railway gala (2nd/3rd October) and then two days at the Severn Valley Railway gala, courtesy of the Fifty Fund, (9th/10th October). The Peak Rail and SVR events were particularly good days, across the 5 days the stand raised in excess of £700 profit. This doesn't include the money raised from the sale of the new Class 50 Train Simulation package and the Peak Rail simulation pack, both of which were launched by our related organisation RRU at the Peak Rail shunter gala. They both seam to be very good, and certainly generated a lot of interest when running on a laptop on the stall.
The money raised by the stall over these few weeks will go a long way towards the overhaul of one of the two motor blowers delivered to Bowers in June. |

The RRRG sales stall is seen at Wansford during their excellent diesel gala on the 3rd October, alongside the Fifty Funds stall.

Here the team are seen wondering where the customers are on the 9th October, but there was no need to worry, it turned into a very good day, and was by all accounts an excellent event, despite the operating difficulties caused by a derailment at Hampton Loade a week or two before the event.

The pitch at Kidderminster station was excellent, being well protected from the elements by the superb station roof, and also being right next to the station entrance. Here a few customers are seen looking at the goods and watching the train simulator demonstration.
