The lighter shade of NSE blue on 50030 had worn thinner than the darker shade on 50029 and as such Repulse was the first to be tackled cosmetically. Early work on the external restoration of 50030 saw the body side rubbed down and painted in grey primer. Replacement glazing was also ordered for nearly all cab and engine room windows. 50029 is seen on the right. An undated shot from early 2003 by Mark Burrows.
