During the later half of 2010 and early months of 2011, 50037's cab was cleaned up and given a coat of primer to tidy it's appearance a little. Various minor fittings were also refitted from our stock of spares such as the headlight, marker light lenses, taillight lenses, air horn covers, multiworking cables, etc, The cab is seen here on the 26th March 2011.
This is an example of the level of work that is having to be undertaken on 50030 (and 50029 in due course). This picture illustrates an auto door closer from the filtration compartment corridor, which had rusted to the extent that it was no longer functioning correctly. It is seen here removed from the loco in the vice, in the process of an RRRG style deep clean. It was also stripped down and it's internals cleaned and repaired, prior to being refitted.
