Working party report 24th July 2016

​Dave Rolfe and I were on site today. Dave was freeing up one of the cab doors on Repulse while I carried on undercoating in the Thin Man's and over the cubicle inside the same locomotive.  Ian Kemp was on site the previous Saturday and they unbolted the remaining pipes and connections to the radiator fan currently inside 50030,...

Ian Kemp, Peter Carter and Dave Rolfe fitted two oil filter housings to the power unit,  and cut down a spare to make a further shallow one (which Dave welded up), so they can pump oil round the power unit when we get to that stage. Booths raid

A small RRRG party consisting of Sarah McCall and Steve Tripp visited Booths today to pick the remains of 47829 and 37428.  The pickings were unfortunately a bit thin as not much was left on these locomotives by the time they arrived at Booths.  The RRRG volunteers recovered a number of resistors (these are needed for Renown and we're getting closer to completing a full set), some insulators, turbo gauges and two dismantled arc chutes (complete ones were missing but these parts will help us repair our damaged examples) which made the day excursion worth it.  Well done to those who took the time to go along to Rotherham today.

Work party 17-18 March

We will be on site the weekend of 17-18 March to continue restoration work. Anyone in the area is welcome to drop by and say hello although we are planning to have a Committee meeting on Sunday which may take up a good few hours with much to discuss.
