During 2008 one of the main areas of progress was with the electrical cubicle which was very heavily stripped prior to RRRG acquiring the locos in 2002. Here New rotary switches are seen installed on the cubicle door, at the time of purchase not only were the switches missing, which have all been replaced with new items, but the door was also missing.

2008 also saw the first delivery of NEW engine components for use in the overhaul of the ex 50008 power unit.

The cab at No 1 end is shown on the day of the 2009 AGM, 13th December, with the restored drivers dash panels temporarily refitted for display purposes to give an idea of progress to date.
